Gomma Books Ltd is a bijou publishing house dedicated to producing exclusive, clandestine photography books.
Since its establishment in 2004, it has always had an out-of-the-box approach in contrast to conventional publishing.
Gomma was founded without profit in mind by four artists that were looking to conceive a fresh new space for photographers. It was meant to be unrestricted, unrestraint and daring; and after more than ten years, it has managed to remain so. It has always opted to play an outsider’s role in the photography business in order to retain its independent and uncompromising position. Despite this intentional outsider status, Gomma has managed to work with some of the most talented and renowned artists such as Roger Ballen, Antoine D'Agata, Lise Sarfati, Michelle Sank, Anders Petersen, Michael Ackerman, Trent Parke, Keizo Kitajima and Daido Moriyama. At the same time, it has been able to dedicate resources and energy to supporting fairly unknown photographers that are regularly discovered by the Gomma editorial team.
